Makkah Clock Royal Tower. A Fairmont Hotel Prepares To Welcome More Than 116,000 Devout Muslims For The Holy Hajj

As the holy Hajj fast approaches, millions of Muslims are preparing to embark on an outward and inward journey of self-renewal and evolution. Keeping with a long tradition of Middle Eastern hospitality and brotherhood, Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, looks forward to welcoming pilgrims from across the world to the holy city of Makkah. Less than 50 steps away from the sacred Kaaba, Makkah Clock Royal Tower is the closest hotel to Masjid Al Haram and the focal point of the Abraj Al Bait complex.

Since it’s opening in 2010, the hotel has hosted more than 2 million guests from more than 120 countries. Additionally, it has been recognized with multiple industry and traveller awards including the World’s Leading Landmark Hotel at the World Travel Awards. Its 601meter frame and panoramic views of Masjid Al Haram have emerged as a crowning achievement in both hospitality and architecture.

“Makkah Clock Royal Tower is a beacon for pilgrims and a symbol of gracious hospitality,” said Managing Director Ahmed Hozaien. “Much like the Hajj pilgrimage, our mission is both external and internal. We offer our guests the opportunity to stay steps away from the holiest Muslim site in the world, in one of the most iconic hotel landmarks. At the same time, we strive to deliver a fitting spiritual environment that permeates peace, harmony and renewal through all our services and amenities.” Among these features are two prayer rooms overlooking the Kabaa, which are dedicated exclusively to hotel residents.

More than 3000 colleagues have been preparing for months to host pilgrims in the fully occupied 1,664 rooms, suites and residences during the holy Hajj period. The hotel delivers a wide selection of accommodation choices, ranging from standard comfortable rooms to all-inclusive spacious suites.

Most recently, Makkah Clock Royal Tower launched the Fairmont Residences. With breathtaking views of the Haram and the holy Kaaba, each residence enjoys a private kitchen, dining and living area, as well as a discreet lounge and reception desk. Guests may also choose to stay in the Fairmont Royal Suites. Overlooking Masjid Al Haram, the suites are located on the hotel’s top floors and incorporate special butler services and facilities to host up to 60 friends and family members. Lastly, the Fairmont Gold is the hotel’s exclusive lifestyle experience. With a unique boutique feel, the Fairmont gold offers a private check-in and checkout area, a secluded lounge, meeting rooms and a range of other complimentary services.

Abdulaziz Eid, Makkah Clock Royal Tower’s hotel manager, noted, “What really makes us stand out is our ability to offer a wide variety of choices to people and to accommodate such a huge range of needs and wishes. Muslims participate in the same sacred ritual during Hajj, but our guests are extremely diverse. They come from different background and from all over the world. Therefore, we always aim to provide wide selections – whether accommodations, amenities or services.”

These choices include 9 casual and gourmet restaurants - the most in any hotel in the city. Ranging from authentic Asian fusion to Middle Eastern delights, casual cafes to a fine dining steakhouse, Makkah Clock Royal Tower has developed a delightful tapestry of tastes, smells and culinary experiences. “We spent a long time developing our restaurant concepts and menus and have taken great care in utilizing the freshest and healthiest ingredients. The Hajj pilgrimage itself is physically taxing, and it is vital that our guests replenish both their minds and bodies,” explained Executive Chef Ali Benali. The hotel also offers specialized children’s menus, as well as Islamic-themed recreational activities in the Kid’s Club.

“Makkah Clock Royal Tower has elevated the standard of services and facilities available to Muslims visiting Makkah Al Mukarramah. The hotel has created a peaceful environment for repose, renewal and reflection that stays true to the core values of the holy city and Masjid Al Haram,” added Eid. “We look forward to welcoming our guests, and all pilgrims, once again this year.”
