Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel, Raffles Makkah Palace and Swissôtel Makkah have launched their annual campaign to recruit Saudi nationals.

As part of its ongoing commitment to find and nurture local talent, and in keeping with the government’s efforts to develop Saudi human resources, Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel, Raffles Makkah Palace and Swissôtel Makkah - all part of the FRHI Hotels & Resorts portfolio - have launched their annual campaign to recruit Saudi nationals. This countrywide effort aims to employ at least 1,000 Saudi men and women through outreach events and via the company’s official multilingual recruitment website on frhi.com 




The campaign is a cornerstone of the three iconic hotels’ human resources policy that prioritizes Saudi recruitment and makes it a central goal in the company’s annual agenda. These policies stem from a long-held belief that Saudis can and should be active in leading one of the most vibrant and important economic sectors in the Kingdom – hospitality and tourism.

This commitment was proudly evident recently when Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel celebrated one of its exceptional Saudi colleagues, Mohammed Sharaf, who was named the Young Hotelier of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards, held in Dubai.




            Sharaf’s notable achievement is a reflection of the hotel’s dedication towards nurturing the professional growth of its team members through a range of tailor-made programs that focus on empowering Saudi nationals. Throughout the year, the three brands hold employment workshops to spotlight rewarding career opportunities and the diverse disciplines in its hotels. 




For Saudi colleagues and future leaders, there are intensive training programs that encourage professional development, career outlook, and performance elevation. Among these are orientation courses that take colleagues on a journey of the three brands and focuses on their shared values and goals including “Train the Trainer” which enables Saudi nationals to make an effective contribution to the organization by actively developing others. Additionally, the hotels have partnered with Cornell University in New York for eCornell online courses in the areas of hospitality, management, and leadership. One of the most successful aspects of the career development program is practical training within different departments of the hotels. This hands-on experience promotes a cohesive approach towards the hospitality industry, and helps match suitable skillset with the right positions.
