Top meeting destinations in 2015 have been selected

With travelogues we symbolically cross the boundaries of space and time and design specific knowledge about meeting destinations. Each travelogue is an experiment of an objective interpretation of the current situation through the eyes of our reporters.

We dare to say, that we were the first who developed a sub-genre of meeting travelogues – meetologues, in which we discover new meeting destinations based on extensive field research. We want to get closer to objective situations, which is why our reporters use a special matrix, which we name Experiential Index of Meeting Destination.

It’s a reference system which we use from the beginning and makes a real comparison of the destinations over time. In addition, we are committed to actuality, truthfulness, verifiability and objectivity. Each year we revised the grades and meetologues and supplement it with current information what we receive from the field. In 2015 we have re-completed the data with the current classification on ICCA scale and data on quality of life (Numeo).

From our first beginnings until today, we accumulated 60 meetologues. Given the large number, they had to be classified into comparable categories. In doing so, we took into consideration various criteria including the size of the city:

1. Cities with more than 150.000 inhabitants are large country or region capitals
2. Cities with 15.000 – 150.000 inhabitants are medium-sized and smaller regional meetings centers
3. Cities with less than 15.000 inhabitants are smaller tourist destinations that have developed a congress product
