The Zero exhibition kicks off a year of Berlin exhibition highlights

From Uecker and van Gogh to Botticelli: The Zero exhibition, opening on 21 March, starts a year full of Berlin exhibition highlights. It is the most comprehensive exhibition of the largest international art movement in the post-war period, which mainly caused a sensation in the 50s and 60s. Some 200 works in the Martin-Gropius-Bau will depict the great creative range developed by Zero artists like Otto Piene and Yves Klein.

Classics of modern art

 

The retrospective \"ImEx. Impressionism - Expressionism\" opens on 22 May at Alte Nationalgalerie. This exhibition on the Museum Island will display masterpieces of the 19th and the early 20th century from van Gogh and Monet to Liebermann, and will put them directly into relationship with each other. Also of great interest to visitors will be the \"Masterpieces of Modernism\" from the Tel Aviv Museum, which will be exhibited at the Martin-Gropius-Bau from 27 March to 21 June, the Sebastião Salgado photo exhibition from 18 April in C/O Berlin, as well as the Max Beckmann retrospective at the reopened Berlinische Galerie from 20 November 2015 to 15 February 2016.

 

Perspectives on Berlin and Germany

 

Two exhibitions will be launched at the German Historical Museum for the historic year of 2015: From 28 May, \"Unification: German society in transition\" will exhibit photos from the transition time after the reunification, 25 years ago. The 70th anniversary of the end of the war in Germany and European countries will be the theme of the exhibition \"1945 – Defeat. Liberation. New Beginning.\", from 24 April. From 22 August, the exhibition \"Frauensache\" (Woman\'s Task) at Charlottenburg Palace will show for the first time how the Hohenzollern women made Brandenburg that Prussia, which so heavily influenced Germany.

 

Highlight of the culture autumn: Botticelli retrospective and Berlin Art Week

 

The exhibition \"The Botticelli Renaissance\" at the Kulturforum Gemäldegalerie will offer fascinating insights. It will demonstrate how large the Florentine painter\'s influence has been on the artistic and cultural world over the centuries. His works inspire fashion and lifestyle even now.
