50 International Hajj & Umrah Representatives Convene for a Global Hajj De-brief Forum in Jakarta Indonesia – 11/10/2017

With a population of over 261 Million people, Indonesia ranks as the largest Muslim populous country in the World, having facilitated and served over 221,000 Hajjis this year, 1438H; Indonesia is grateful and thankful to all other nations for having made this a wonderful collective experience, one that will be enshrined in the memory of all Indonesian Pilgrims. 

 
 
The government of Indonesia is hopeful that the culture, good conduct, character, discipline and warmth of the Indonesian Pilgrimage would have also left a glowing impression for all other Pilgrims and Organisers; cherishing the Hajj dearly for having granted the opportunity in connecting us with one another, all together. 
 
 
In 2013, Hajj People of the U.K. conducted the largest poll research ever undertaken to try and establish the general perception from the International Hajj & Umrah community as a fact, as to which countries Pilgrim’s are regarded to, as the most positive contributors in the overall Hajj Experience. 
 
 
The Award of “Best Pilgrims in the World” was grated to Indonesia that year; received by Honorable Anggito Abimanyu on behalf of the Indonesian People in London at the World Hajj & Umrah Convention, with a ceremonial award procession followed by in Jakarta, hosted by Kementerian Agama. 
 
 
The World Hajj & Umrah Select Committee has sought to understand the character, the culture, the processes and the motivations behind such a phenomenal achievement. 
 
 
For over 3 years, WHUC has continued to evaluate the Indonesian Hajj Program, furthering our understanding and insights into their management processes, methods and procedures, schematics that could add value to the International Hajj & Umrah Community. 
 
 
Having then visited numerous sites across the country, inclusive of their training and induction facilities, Islamic and Secular educational institutes; interviewing operational and management staff in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, the Mission coordinators, the Pilgrims, as well as the private organized section of Hajj & Umrah. 
 
 
We reached our conclusion that, as a community is it is a collective society whereby it’s people prioritise the good of the society over the welfare of the individual. During Hajj this culture is shared with the International Community, its impact first witnessed at the Hajj Terminal and is the root factor of their success, genuine teamwork. This understanding is further supported by the extensive work of Professor Geert Hofstede’s, cultural dimension theory, referring to Indonesian people as collectivists. 
 
 
South East Asia in the East, are a group of nation’s who for years have been viewed as the benchmark in Hajj Excellence, with Turkey as the Benchmark for the West. Many of the Saudi Hajj & Umrah Initiatives are Piloted in Malaysia and then later introduced as a policy advancement to the rest of the World. This is a testament that we have much to learn from South East Asia and that no system in Hajj & Umrah will reach the panicle of its success unless there is integration and collectivity, merging the insights and expertise of the east and the west and all those in-between. 
 
 
Working closely with our Government, NGO and private sector partners from across the globe, we are pleased to note that the hallmark and affairs of excellence is a quality visible in each and every country, in different shades. For this purpose the World Hajj & Umrah Convention serves as the platform for all professionals involved in making Hajj & Umrah such a special experience, to shine the torch on all, deriving and extracting value from all sections and sectors and present it to decision makers in forms and formats that will contribute towards shaping their future outlook and the means by which they prepare their nations pilgrimages. 
 
 
We are pleased to announce that for the first time WHUC will organize two global conventions in 6 month intervals, with WHUC 2018 – Planning & Preparation in London and WHUC 2018 – Global Debrief in Jakarta, during the months of April 2018 and October 2018, respectively. 
 
 
In preparation, this year, the Presidency, BPKH, Kementerian Agama, the Indonesian Hajj Mission and WHUC Select Committee invites you to join us in Jakarta for the WHUC Initiative Forum 2017, convened between the dates of 10th - 12th of October 2017. 
 
 
The government of Indonesia welcomes all stakeholders and Hajj & Umrah management professionals to participate in the WHUC Initiative Forum - Debriefing Session in Jakarta, an eventful 3 days specially formulated to provide government representatives and key decision makers an exclusive preview into the Indonesian Hajj & Umrah facilities and capabilities.
