The beginning of a lifelong romance at Tomjachu Bush Retreat

Tomjachu Bush Retreat, a private nature reserve situated in the midst of 550 hectares of pristine mountain bushveld overlooking the scenic Crocodile Valley Nature Conservancy outside Nelspruit, provides the ideal backdrop for the romantic at heart.  The reserve is a haven for an abundance of indigenous plants, birds, mammals and other wildlife; it is also the ultimate setting to begin a lifelong romance.

The retreat boasts uninterrupted bushveld views for couples to witness the beguiling beauty of all the faultless natural and historical treasures scattered throughout the reserve. Each couple can be accommodated in one of three delightful cottages, each with its own unique character; Keepers Cottage, Rock House and Bush Cottage. For the ultimate romantic experience, settle into either Keepers or Rock House for an exclusively private hideaway, which look out to the majestic vista of the Bekker Mountains. Nestled beneath the branches of a giant fig tree, Keepers Cottage is renowned for its romantic atmosphere which is complemented by its colonial style and garden surroundings, and even a fireplace to cosy up to during those cool winter evenings. Rock House has a beautifully appointed open thatched studio style layout with large sliding doors drawing nature and wildlife to the foot of your bed. It also boasts private plunge pool occasionally used as a watering hole by the inquisitive zebra . A stay at either of these cottages can be best described as blissful solitude.
Spectacular bush locations abound throughout the property where couples can effortlessly connect in a romantic atmosphere, such as lantern-lit dinners under the stars, and picnics next to a gently trickling waterfall or on the banks of South dam. Tomjachu Bush Retreat invites couples to indulge in the in-house chef\'s culinary delights set in candle light in the elegant Homestead dining room. For those looking to show off some of their culinary skills and impress their partner, the cottages are also fully equipped for self-catering.

Above and beyond the stunning accommodation, the retreat has an array of things to see and do. Relax and unwind as you listen to an orchestra of over 265 bird species, walk hand in hand amongst plentiful plains game, hike up the tricky zebra heights trail, fish for bass, or go for a nature drive in a safari Land Rover with a knowledgeable guide and enjoy a sundowner overlooking the stunning gorge. See fish eagles pluck bream from the cool waters of the South Dam, mountain bike to 1006m above sea level, or book a guided excursion to the nearby Kruger National Park - the choice is yours.
