Tourism Authority Thailand Unveils "Open to the New Shades" Campaign in Jordan

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) unveiled its new ‘Open to the New Shades’ campaign in Amman on the last day of its post-Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2018, roadshow event.

The roadshow covered three countries, all of which are key markets for TAT. The post-ATM event kicked off in Oman (26 April) before heading to Bahrain (28 April) and concluding in Jordan. The post-ATM roadshow serves to highlight Thailand’s many offerings to the travel industry in the Middle East region.

This year 38 Thai hotels, tour operators, medical service institutes and tourism related agencies from the private sector attended the roadshow.

The new campaign by TAT showcases the diversity of Thailand and its many unique and undiscovered offerings for travellers. It comprises of five pillars: shades of Thai gastronomy, shades of nature and beach, shades of arts and crafts, shades of culture and shades of way of life.

Thailand is one of the leading destinations for visitors from Jordan, with many of those being first-time visitors and a substantial number being honeymooners. A strategic partnership with Royal Jordanian Airline has helped increase the number of tourists visiting Bangkok.

Mrs. Srisuda Wanapinyosak, Deputy Governor of International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas), TAT, said: “The Middle East is a key market for us and we are incredibly excited to launch our new campaign, “Open to the New Shades”, in Jordan. Thailand offers something unique and exciting for every type of visitor from across the region. With an array of clear water and white sand beaches for those looking to relax, to world-class wellness retreats for those looking to re-charge, to some of the most stunning temples and cultural sights in the world. Not to mention, the vast array of food from a Michelin star street food vendor to upscale Thai restaurants and an array of other cuisines. Thailand also offers travellers a vast number of accommodation options with everything from 5-star family-friendly hotels with halal options to boutique hostels for solo travellers.

“With the newly launched campaign of “Open to the New Shades” and our 38 strategic Thai private sector partners participating in the Jordan roadshow, we trust that it will increase awareness of Thailand as a destination amongst travellers from Jordan and we hope they will join us in discovering some of the less discovered parts of the country.”

The 25th edition of ATM took place from 22 – 25 April in Dubai, the leading global event for the Middle East travel industry.
