Arabic Assistant Service, pop-up stores and special discounts – Munich Airport offers a wide range of special shopping options for Arabic-speaking guests

Relaxed shopping at the airport: To offer passengers from Arab countries an even more enjoyable retail experience, Munich Airport has launched a new shopping amenity: the Arabic Assistant Service. On request, the trained assistants are ready to help travelers in the language of their home countries with all aspects of the shopping experience at Munich Airport and with the tax refund formalities. During the special campaign for Arab guests, the airport is also offering discounts and sales at participating stores. As a further convenience, there is now an exclusive pop-up store to meet the needs of this target group. The service is limited to Terminal 1, where most airlines serving destinations in the Arab world arrive and depart. It will be available until September 4.

Competent advice

The time-limited service can be booked in advance at http://www.munich-airport.com/arabicassistant or by telephone at 0152-122064290152-12206429. The Arabic-speaking team is also available in Terminal 1 daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. Travelers who would like the help of an Arabic Assistant can simply go to one of the marked touchpoints. They are located in the Terminal 1 check-in area, the Customs Office in Module B, the Tax Refund Office in Module C West, in the Atlantic Lounge and after security screening. Lounge guests also have access to a personal pick-up and delivery service: Shoppers simply select the desired items using a tablet device and wait for them to be brought to where they are sitting. The payment process is then handled quickly and easily.

Pop-up store and special discounts

To increase the appeal of the time-limited offer, Munich Airport has teamed up with eurotrade, its retail subsidiary, to offer special shopping options during the campaign period. Through to the end of the campaign, selected shops are offering discounts, exclusive giveaways and a special shopping invitation with additional 10 percent discounts. The invitation cards are being distributed in Terminal 1 and are also available at the participating stores.

At the pop-up store, situated after security in Module C, passengers looking to treat themselves to a little luxury before departure will find a curated selection of exclusive items. The selection extends from high-quality bags from Aigner, the traditional Munich designer of exquisite leather goods, to selected scents from popular luxury brands such as Bulgari, Cartier, Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford, Hugo Boss and Annick Goutal. To sample the scents, perfume testers are also on hand in the Atlantic Lounge. The lounge personnel will be pleased to assist the Arabic-speaking guests in the selection and delivery of the perfume they select.

\"Munich in particular and the state of Bavaria are now well established as a popular holiday destination for Arab tourists,\" says Philipp Ahrens, the head of Center Management at Munich Airport. \"At the airport we are also responding to the increasing numbers of passengers from the Arab countries and are looking for ways of making their time at our airport as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Part of those efforts are services tailored to the shopping habits of these guests and providing assistance in overcoming language and cultural barriers.\"
